Senior Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a reputable manufacturing company in Clarence, NY. This on-site role is perfect for someone with 10 years of accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, NYS sales and use tax rules, and financial and tax accounting. You’ll be responsible for financial statement preparation, including cash flow statements, and have experience with ERP systems. Responsibilities:
· Prepare and analyze financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) on a monthly and annual basis.
· Ensure all financial reports are accurate and delivered to management on time.
· Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
· Prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications, in accordance with GAAP.
· Maintain capital assets record keeping files.
· Submit quarterly additions, deletions, and transfers accurately to outside CPA firm for depreciation and amortization calculations.
· Coordinate and support external audits, prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
· Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government tax requirements.
· Research tax issues and stay informed about changes in tax regulations.
· Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
· Provide management with financial insights and recommendations.
· Supervise and mentor staff.
· Provide training and support to ensure team members adhere to accounting principles and company procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA is a plus.
- 10 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems. Power BI a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
