New Graduate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Overview:
AP Health is a private practice comprised of advanced practice providers. We provide perioperative services to hospitals, surgeons, and surgery centers. We partner with hospitals to offer service line coverage with highly trained and knowledgeable advanced practice providers to perform history & physicals (H&Ps), inpatient care, and first assist in surgery.
AP Health is seeking a newly graduated Physician Assistant with a current NCCPA and FL state license to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. A successful candidate would be open to learning all areas of surgery such as general surgery, robotics, orthopedics, total joints, neuro, backs and spine. Our ideal candidate would have prior suturing experience and is open to learning all specialties of surgery. This job is a strictly a "surgical only" position with no clinic time. Reports to the Senior Vice President
Responsibilities:
- Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
- Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
- Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers
- Demonstrates good knowledge of anatomy
- Assists in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
Qualifications:
- Current Florida State Licensure
- Board certified by NCCPA required
- Current BLS required / ACLS is a plus
- Greater than 2 years, highly skilled multiple specialties in the area of First Assisting
