About the Role:
As an Associate for Capital Projects based out of the Houston Office, you will work with and under the direction of the Director of Capital Projects. You will be involved in a wide variety of benchmarking and onsite engagements that involve direct interface with plant personnel from the facility manager to the individual contributor. Typical work is focused on project readiness assessments, project integration assessments with turnarounds, data studies with performance metrics and benchmarking, in-depth project assurance evaluations, and evaluating, developing, and deploying work processes.
On a regular basis, you will assist industry-leading clients to understand improvement opportunities and deliver case-for-action business presentations, and be directly involved in organizational change initiatives. The successful candidate will play a major role in expanding AP-Networks’ capital project services and compete for subsequent career advancement opportunities. Most travel is within North America, and mid-week (meaning you travel on Monday and return home on Thursday evening, and are home on the weekends). We will also give you the opportunity to meet and gain the recognition and respect of managers and executives of the largest energy companies in the world.
Profile: The ideal candidate will have:
· At least 5 years of experience in projects in Refining, Petrochemical, Chemical, Agriculture, Food or allied industries;
· A four-year degree (technical preferred);
· Fluency in English (written/verbal ability to communicate technical content); Spanish language fluency a plus;
· Excellent communication and analytical skills;
· An ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
· Excellence in building and maintaining client relationships with a desire to sell where it increases value to our clients;
· Intellectual curiosity;
· An ability to conceptualize and develop new ideas and provide both verbal and written analysis;
· An ability to give quantitative (charts, graphs, numbers) presentations/briefings to executive level audience;
· Project Management knowledge and/or experience;
· Exposure to the criticality of integration of multiple disciplines and functions (e.g., operations, maintenance, engineering, etc.) to achieve successful implementation;
· A willingness to travel.
INITIAL ASSIGNMENT: Webster (Houston), TX. FUTURE: Open.
TRAVEL: Currently at 20% but expected to grow to 40%, mostly in continental United States.
