AP Professionals has partnered with a global Optics manufacturing company seeking an experienced Director of Quality to lead a world-class, quality organization to drive product quality strategies and ensure on-time delivery of high-value products. This role involves overseeing quality processes, root cause investigations, SPC initiatives, and managing a dedicated quality team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Establish and oversee a high-performing, world-class quality organization.
- Lead the company-wide calibration of tools and testing equipment.
- Apply statistical process control methods to solve problems and implement SPC practices across the organization.
- Develop and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
- Design and implement quality control tools to ensure products meet all required specifications.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies related to product quality, processes, design, and production.
- Oversee product quality investigations and lead troubleshooting efforts when issues arise.
- Identify root causes of product quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Promote a strong culture of customer-focused quality awareness across the organization.
- Ensure the effective operation of Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspection activities.
- Develop robust qualification test plans to support quality and reliability in new product development.
- Oversee the quality of both incoming materials and outgoing products.
- Manage supplier qualification processes and monitor supplier performance for externally sourced materials and components.
- Play an active role on the leadership team, contributing to the achievement of business objectives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the organization.
- Collaborate effectively with Production, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, customers, suppliers, and other external partners.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Over 10 years of experience in product quality and reliability within a manufacturing setting.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing quality teams in a dynamic, fast-paced Optics manufacturing environment is required.

Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
