AP Professionals has partnered with a local manufacturing company looking for a dynamic, results-driven, and strategic Director of Supply Chain for a full-time, on-site role. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of all facets of supply chain operations, including strategic sourcing, purchasing management, inventory control, materials handling, production planning, and the SIOP process to deliver data-driven insights that support organizational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a resilient supply chain that supports company growth and profitability goals while remaining agile in the face of supplier disruptions.
- Shape the overall supply chain strategy and create a comprehensive plan, including domestic vs. international sourcing, make-or-buy decisions, and material inventory targets.
- Mentor, guide, and empower the supply chain team to foster professional growth and ensure organizational continuity.
- Drive accountability for supply chain performance, including cost reduction goals, supplier delivery metrics, supply and demand planning, inventory management, schedule adjustments, and innovative problem-solving.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Business Development, and Finance to create forecasts that enable balanced production schedules, realistic growth plans, and meet customer demands.
- Partner with the Quality team to evaluate and improve supplier performance related to material compliance and standards.
- Set and recommend departmental goals, manage budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities to support business objectives.
- Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators for supply chain operations, including supplier scorecards, to measure and improve efficiency.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in supply chain management is required.
- Proven expertise in global sourcing and supply chain management.
- Experienced in creating and implementing standard operating procedures for supply chain operations.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and operational systems.
