Job Description
Position Title: Certified Payroll Specialist
Reports To: VP, Operations
Summary:
The Certified Payroll Specialist is responsible for the preparation and submission of certified payroll reports on a weekly basis, including collecting worker classification information for each employee in addition to the prevailing and fringe rates.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with regions on projects that require filing certified payrolls to ensure fair wages for workers on projects funded by the state or federal government.
2. Experience filing certified payrolls under multiple method requirements; LCPtracker, Form WH347, DIR, etc.
3. Resolve client issues related to reporting submission.
4. Maintain Certified Payroll log.
5. Communicate to each region the status of the certified payrolls to provide clients with the latest information.
6. Stay current with rules, regulations, wage and hour laws, contracts, and policies.
Requirements:
1. 3 years of experience working for a large organization or multi-state employer.
2. High School Diploma or GED required.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPS required).
4. Experience filing certified payrolls, prevailing wages (Davis Bacon Act), fringe benefits.
5. Experience with union trades, memberships, job classifications, and union rates.
