Job Title : Cafeteria Assistants (2024-2025 School Year)

Reports To : Director of Food Services

FLSA Status : Nonexempt (At-will Position) Part-time

Salary : Range 103 ($14.35 to $17.57; Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification)

  • Additional Professional Growth funds may be awarded for college coursework completed beyond a high school diploma
  • Salary placement will be determined by HR upon hiring

SUMMARY

Works under supervision. Assists in setting up serving line, serves and stores food and equipment for students and staff, and cleans up kitchen by performing the following duties.

Essential Core Competencies

Includes the following :

  • Responsible for work of routine difficulty in the preparation of food products.
  • Operate institutional equipment such as mixer, slicer, chopper, oven, range, scale, steam-cooking equipment and dishwashing machines.
  • Select, weigh and measure ingredients; prepares food.
  • Set up serving line or lines.
  • Serve students with correct portions.
  • Sell breakfast and / or lunch tickets.
  • Clean up serving lines.
  • Perform all general clean-up : Wash dishes, pots and pans, equipment, cooking and preparation surfaces and the floor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must obtain a Food Handler's Card
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card (with IVP number)

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme cold.
