Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coach student-athletes in the assigned sport and promote their development.
• Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the flag football program.
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.
• Uphold high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality.
• Implement and promote safe practices to reduce injuries.
• Build team camaraderie through activities such as teambuilding, fundraising, and

community service projects.

• Attend school district and AIA meetings as directed by the Athletic Director or

supervising coach.

• Utilize required online platforms like MaxPreps, HUDL, and others for team

management.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of the NFHS online Fundamentals of Coaching course or an approved

equivalent (per AIA Rule 17.1).

• Completion of the NFHS online Concussion in Sports – What You Need to Know

course (per AIA Rule 17.1).

• Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
• Strong knowledge of flag football rules, techniques, essential skills, and safety

practices.

• Effective communication skills with students, parents, and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AIA and Apache Junction Unified School District rules and

regulations.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of

relevant coaching experience; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.

• Preference for candidates holding an Arizona Teaching Certificate or coaching

experience with certified personnel.

Other Information

• May require work outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Travel may be necessary for games, events, or other job functions.
• Must utilize online platforms required for specific sports like MaxPreps, HUDL, and

others
