Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coach student-athletes in the assigned sport and promote their development.
- Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the flag football program.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.
- Uphold high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality.
- Implement and promote safe practices to reduce injuries.
- Build team camaraderie through activities such as teambuilding, fundraising, and
community service projects.
- Attend school district and AIA meetings as directed by the Athletic Director or
supervising coach.
- Utilize required online platforms like MaxPreps, HUDL, and others for team
management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of the NFHS online Fundamentals of Coaching course or an approved
equivalent (per AIA Rule 17.1).
- Completion of the NFHS online Concussion in Sports – What You Need to Know
course (per AIA Rule 17.1).
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Ability to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
- Strong knowledge of flag football rules, techniques, essential skills, and safety
practices.
- Effective communication skills with students, parents, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AIA and Apache Junction Unified School District rules and
regulations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of
relevant coaching experience; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
- Preference for candidates holding an Arizona Teaching Certificate or coaching
experience with certified personnel.
Other Information
- May require work outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Travel may be necessary for games, events, or other job functions.
- Must utilize online platforms required for specific sports like MaxPreps, HUDL, and
others
