QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum three (3) years combined experience working in marketing, advertising, public relations and/promotions fields.
- Two to Five years of marketing experience in a supervisory or managerial position preferred.
- Proven ability to serve as a leader for team members while fostering teamwork, team member morale, motivation, and open communication.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to interact well with internal and external customers and work as a team member.
- Must have an In-depth knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations pertaining to gaming and media utilization.
- Experience with and knowledge of developing tactical and strategic market plans and operating budgets.
- Strong leadership skills and customer service orientation required.
- Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
- Strong computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Knowledge of database management and support systems preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides leadership direction as assigned in accordance with the casino's organizational structure.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of public and media relations, community relations programs, policies, and strategies.
- The position will be focused on media development and community relations that build and strengthen the Casino’s reputation.
- Serves as communications advisor, speechwriter, community relations consultant, and “informed source “.
- Approves and edits casino publications including press releases.
- Maintains existing media and develops new local contacts in applicable feeder markets.
- Functions as casino’s spokesperson in extraordinary situations.
- Develops annual public relations plan for Marketing and property.
- Generates marketing-oriented news releases and special exclusive stories to generate incremental business through publicity in newspapers, magazines, and other publications.
- Produces major press coverage for on-property events representing the Casino in off-property events and meetings.
- Hosts visiting press/media representatives; arranges invitations, entertainment, transportation, and accommodations as necessary; assists with ongoing promotional events.
- Executes all promotional activities including interview and hire attendants/talent, schedules food and beverage elements, and communicates expectations of affected departments, initiate collateral, and signage production.
- Proposes and creates new and unique promotional ideas and works with selected vendors via the bid process.
- Coordinates photo and video shoots and maintains and supplements photo library.
- Assists in executing production of guest and team member communication vehicles.
- Develops relationships with retail outlets for promotional programs.
- Prepares and maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual advertising, publicity, and other applicable statistical reports as required.
- Oversees development and maintenance of annual Marketing Business Plan and Operating Budget and ensures all variances are identified and justified appropriately.
- Attends scheduled management meetings and presents marketing related information to departmental managers.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Ensures that all department employees are adhering to the attendance policy.
- Ensures that all department employees are in compliance with appearance standards.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises, and cigarette smoke. Extensive computer use. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile guests. High volume direct public contact.
