POSITION OVERVIEW:
Fit and assemble instrument parts, check instruments for accuracy and calibrating to specifications. This role involves precise work with various types of tubing and instrumentation, ensuring all installations meet engineering standards and safety protocols.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Run pneumatic tubing.
Complete the layout of tubing on skids.
Run tubing to the end devices.
Bend tubing 1/4- ½ inch thick.
Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks as needed.
Adhere to OSHA safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices to prevent hazards.
Implement and follow company safety policies, conducting regular safety checks and reporting any safety concerns to the supervisor.
Participate in safety training sessions and ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain a clean work area and follow 5S basics.
Other duties as assigned by TAS.
JOB SKILLS:
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to read general adjustment and P&ID drawings.
Proficiency in math.
Knowledge of end devices.
Familiar with different types of tubing.
Knowledge of structural shapes and sizes.
Understanding of system flow.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
High School Diploma.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
4 years of experience as an instrument fitter bending stainless steel.
Must have a good command of the English/Spanish language, both written and verbal.
Basic understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures.
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work performed in a shop environment.
Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness.
Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials.
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
The use of Safety Glasses is required.
The use of earplugs is recommended.
Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week
Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility.
