Overview:
Conducts telephone screening and registration of persons requesting Agency services. Schedules appointments. Completes data input and generates reports for managing/monitoring screening, appointment and utilization review activities. Provides shared coverage of Agency=s auto-attendant/main switchboard phone line
ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and process all incoming calls on New Patient Registration lines in accordance with established procedures. Screens persons requesting Agency services using established protocols / decision tree guidelines. Documents each completed screening process in accordance with SOP.
- Obtains insurance eligibility/coverage information from persons requesting services. Verifies coverage/policy limits through Insurance/Data Processing Department. Communicates coverage limits and applicable co-pay/first party fees to persons screened to establish payment plans in accordance with unit procedures.
- Schedules intake appointments for persons determined eligible for Agency services. Schedules follow-up appointments for patients transferring from Apalachee Inpatient to outpatient clinics.
- Competes data input for new patient registration/UR processes.
- Relays necessary information to service providers regarding managed care/UR requirements for specific clients in accordance with SOP specifications.
Education/Experience:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent (GED). Two years of secretarial/clerical/office experience required. Prior health care office experience preferred. Computer and data input experience preferred.
