Overview:
Provides patient supervision, care, and activities services in accordance with professional staff direction and unit procedures. Assists patients in activities of daily living, assists in implementing treatment plans and provides supportive contact with patients.
ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Supervises patients during program activities, meals and all unscheduled times or as directed by supervisor. Assists patients with activities of daily living as necessary (eating, laundry, personal hygiene, etc.) Assists patients in ambulating as needed.
- Oversee residents self-administration of medication and documents appropriately in the clients MAR. Communicates any medication-related errors immediately to supervisor or on-call administrator when applicable.
- Communicates immediately to supervisory staff important information regarding client's concerns or complaints regarding physical and emotional needs, changes in functioning or status, any symptoms of possible medical or psychiatric emergencies, or possible missing persons or elopements.
- Orients residents to unit/facility, rules and responsibilities, schedules and activities, etc. at time of admission/transfer in accordance with Program Rules procedure. Inspects belongings upon admission and on-going after unsupervised off campus outings.
- Attendance: Consistent work attendance. Complies with assigned / scheduled work hours, use and scheduling of leave, and punctuality.
Education/Experience:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in a patient care setting preferred.
Licensure or Certification:
- Must obtain and maintain current CPR, First Aid, and CPI certifications.
- Must possess current, valid drivers license and maintain Apalachee Designated Auto Driver status.
