Overview:
The Training Specialist provides support services to the Training & Staff Development Department. Particular emphasis is in the areas of orientation, special projects, and distribution of ongoing training materials. Provides orientation to new staff, provides assistance to staff members with computer and independent learning modules. Prepares training materials for training events as requested by supervisor and/or presenter. Generates and disseminates the Agency Training reports and announcements as indicated.
ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides orientation to new staff. Prepares new employee training packets, communicates with supervisor of new employee concerning completion of orientation trainings. Provides support with computer trainings.
- Word processes/types, duplicates and distributes assigned reports, announcements, memoranda, forms, records and other training documents for assigned staff. Maintains production quality control of all produced documents by reviewing finished product for typewritten, spelling and punctuation, and grammatical errors.
- Completes training data input timely and accurately. Processes Training Contact forms to include edit of each form (to ensure correct training code number, employee numbers, date, title, etc.), and filing of forms. Generates monthly training reports and distributes this information to supervisor.
- Maintains required training files and certifications. Disseminates information as needed. Disseminates training flyers and announcements for assigned events by inter-office mail and/or e-mail as indicated.
- Contacts employees and supervisors to remind them of scheduled trainings. Contacts trainers to confirm their attendance at scheduled training events.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Professional training or experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required Bachelor’s Degree.
- Training experience preferred.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Access preferred.
Licensure or Certification:
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Maintain Apalachee Designated Auto Driver status.
