Overview
Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) performs crisis intervention, risk assessment and referral services for individuals in the community that are experiencing a mental health crisis. The LMHP will be part of a 2-person team which includes law enforcement. The TEAM (Tallahassee Emergency Assessment Mobile) will be operating off-site and will be dispatched to the community through 9-1-1. The LMHP will strive to avert psychiatric hospitalization though crisis intervention but may initiate the Baker Act or Marchman Act for involuntary examination when appropriate. The LMHP will make referrals and help to connect individuals with community resources and treatment. The LMHP will conduct risk assessments and document in Apalachee Center’s electronic medical record.

Essential/Core Job-specific Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides crisis intervention counseling and risk assessment.
- Collects collateral information from families and other sources to complete risk assessment.
- Initiates Baker Act and Marchman Act examinations when appropriate.
- Links clients served with services and other resources.
- Provides follow-up outreach per TEAM protocols.
- Maintains all required documentation in accordance with Clinical Record Handbook specifications or Agency policies and procedures.
- Consults with inpatient and outpatient staff about referrals as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
