Job Overview
- Monitoring assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts.
- Resolving billing and customer credit issues promptly.
- Locating and contacting clients regarding overdue payments.
- Assisting clients in setting up monthly payment plans upon request.
- Updating account status records and documenting collection efforts.
- Reporting on collection activities and accounts receivable status.
- Conducting benefits and eligibility insurance checks.
- Clearly explaining deductibles, coinsurance/copays, and out-of-pocket expenses to clients.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Exhibiting a professional demeanor and demonstrating patience in client communications.
Requirements and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: ABA billing experience or minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of insurance billing and collection techniques, particularly in the context of therapy services.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
