Reyes has a variety of clients including the U.S. Navy, Ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach and San Diego, Army Corps of Engineers, and various counties and cities projects. Our past projects include a wide range of Heavy Civil Construction. We are seeking to hire an experienced Heavy Civil Project Engineer that is able to assist in $5-$75-million-dollar projects in the Southern California Area.
General Description :
Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Project Management Team and overseeing job site work and subcontractors. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, possesses excellent communication skills, and can multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize workload.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist Project Management in the planning, management, and successful execution of assigned construction projects.
- Complete understanding of the contract including Reyes Construction contractual obligations and the Owner’s obligations.
- Supervise and direct the work of craft labor where necessary.
- Assist Project Management in evaluation and correction of field issues.
- Assist in plan and specification analysis to provide clear, traceable, and coordinated interpretation of the design / drawings for construction.
- Prepare and process construction permits.
- Obtain post-award quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- USA / Dig-Alert notifications and documentation.
- Prepare and coordinate submittals and Requests for Information with the project owner.
- Perform tasks such as tracking material / unit quantities and costs.
- Coordinate the work of subcontractors / vendors, including scheduling and if needed rescheduling to ensure compliance with project schedule.
- Produce and maintain 3-week schedule updates.
- Provide schedule progress dates for monthly updates.
- Monitor and document safety compliance on job sites.
- Provide technical and engineering support to company employees and subcontractors to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design construction.
- Attend project coordination and Owner / Contractor / Architect / Engineer meetings as required.
- Assist with take-offs and other estimating duties for ongoing projects and new work, where necessary.
- Perform accurate field measurements and photos for project progress.
- Identify project risks and independently develop mitigation plans.
- Assist with SWPPP inspection and documentation.
- Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts.
- Prepare and submit daily construction reports.
- Conduct quality inspections and determine quality control deficiencies.
- Generate and continuously update as-built documents and assist with research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.
