What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Worker position at Apartment Services, Inc.?
The Utility Worker will travel to various properties to perform general maintenance, repair, and construction tasks to assist with extra workload and supplementing crews and properties to meet unusual changes in production or weather.
Responsibilities and Duties: (included but not limited to)
- Cleans equipment, maintains a work area free from debris and dirt, and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
- Perform general maintenance on utility systems, addressing issues like leask, broken equipment, and ensuring systems are operation.
- Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items.
- Conducts daily lawn care and landscaping duties as instructed.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, safety protocols, Fair Housing and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Be available for winter weather events, including snow removal, salting, shoveling, and pretreating. Snow removal, salting, shoveling, and pretreating is mandatory.
- Performs any unskilled job at the property service center.
- Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to travel to various properties throughout the company.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
