Director of Nursing

Overview
The Director of Nursing (DON) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within our facility. This leadership position requires a dedicated professional who is passionate about nursing, committed to excellence, and capable of fostering a collaborative environment. The DON will be responsible for implementing policies, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and promoting best practices in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring adherence to established standards of care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and improve health outcomes.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of medical records and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor patient care quality and implement improvements as necessary.
• Stay updated on Medicare regulations and ensure that the facility meets all necessary requirements.
• Provide guidance on anatomy and physiology to enhance staff knowledge and patient care practices.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional development, and effective communication.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it pertains to patient care.
• Familiarity with Medicare guidelines and regulations affecting healthcare delivery.
• Proficient in managing medical records systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Experience in nursing home or home health settings is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on nurse management and staff development.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Ability to assess situations critically and make informed decisions that benefit patient care outcomes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
