Purpose of the Position:
The Managing Director of Accounting will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, payroll, and inventory operations of the company. Managing Director of Accounting is responsible for monitoring and protecting company assets and financial conditions utilizing budgets and reporting enabling forecasting accuracy. Establishes internal controls concerning inventory and company expenses. Managing Director of Accounting ensures expenses are in line with projected revenue. Oversee all payroll related functions, revenue collection and filings. Supervises Payroll Coordinator and Bookkeeper.
Managing Director of Accounting Responsibilities:
- Create internal controls for inventory & ordering.
- Oversee AP/AR, QuickBooks Pro, ACH and Payroll/ADP Workforce Now.
- Oversee Payroll Coordinator and Bookkeeper.
- Continual communication with ADP representatives.
- Preparation of financials for client contracts.
- Budget development and cash flow control.
- Monthly, quarterly, and yearly financials.
- Liaison with external tax firm.
- Liaison with Director of Special projects on claim administration.
- Establish & maintain process/records for fleet inventory. Monitor usage; adjust as required.
- Analyze data on EZ Pass and gas cards. Control usage as needed.
- Report statistical data to state and federal government.
- Monitor physical office and personnel, as needed.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting from a 4-year college or university.
- Approximately 5 years in an accounting function with direct reports.
- Proven leadership and ability to develop and present meeting content.
- Accounting analysis experience; cash flow planning.
- Understanding of financial investments and developing financial processes & controls.
- Excellent training skills and team leader oversite.
- Professional communicative skills and managerial presence.
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Pro and Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel.
- ADP Workforce Now experience highly preferred.
- Ability to leverage technology to gain efficiency.
- Prior employment & business contact references.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, smartphones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners.
