What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Sales Manager - Southern California (San Diego Area) position at APCO Signs?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed quotas for territory. Follow-up on leads and prospects in territory.
- Work specifier market regularly and systematically. Make General Presentations, minimum one per month, to major specifier accounts so they are knowledgeable about APCO products.
- Make prospect and customer calls regularly and systematically.
- Prepare proposals, bids and quotations. Submit complete and accurate information to the factory on orders for production.
- Submit sales forecasts on a monthly basis. Submit weekly Sales Itinerary and Sales Call Reports for individual territory.
- Assist in gathering credit information and in collecting accounts receivable.
- Maintain complete familiarity with APCO products and their applications. Direct sales efforts towards APCO's market niche.
- Establish filing systems and insure they are kept current.
- Represent company at Trade Shows periodically.
- Locate sources for installation and coordinate.
- Establish and train dealers where appropriate.
- Respond to customer complaints and help resolve problems.
- Make periodic visits to factory to gain knowledge of new products and procedures.
- Any additional duties that may be required to reach objective.
Necessary Skills and Training:
- Extensive experience in sales and specification of architectural sign systems
- Excellent sales and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel
- Proficient in Illustrator
- Proficient in database program (FileMaker)
- Knowledge of Internet, E-mail, etc.
- High organizational skills
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work as a team player and get along with all persons in the company.
- Maintain a "can do" positive attitude.
- Ability to represent the company in a professional manner in both sales and management roles.
- Ability to maintain high degree of integrity in handling confidential matters.
- Valid Driver's License
