APCO, a global advisory and advocacy firm, is seeking an Associate Director of Learning and Development (L&D) to join APCO’s Global Learning and Development (L&D) team. The Associate Director of Learning and Development is an integral part of APCO's L&D team. The L&D team adopts the core concepts of the lean start-up model and applies them to our learning initiatives for the company. We are looking for someone that can be visionary and strategic in their approach to learning, and able to collaborate with a wide array of staff.
Responsibilities
This person will serve as a deputy to APCO’s Senior Director of Learning & Development, providing support on key initiatives while building their own legacy as a leader in the field. There will be substantial opportunities to learn and grow, and an expectation that they will make this role their own.

The US base salary for this position ranges from $90,000/year to $120,000/year. Our compensation range for this role is inclusive of several US geographic markets. APCO targets an employee's pay within this range to be based on several factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, internal equity and/or geographic location.

- Create and deploy innovative learning plans to meet the needs of the business.
- Develop in-house training materials, e-learning modules, and interactive workshops to supplement external resources.
- Develop and deliver training modules focused on AI integration, including its applications, ethical considerations, and best practices.
- Create comprehensive learning paths to upskill employees on AI tools and platforms relevant to their roles.
- Partner and work closely with regional learning partners of APCO’s global regions (Asia, Middle East, Europe, North America) supporting regional learning strategies and building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Assist in the design and lead on the implementation of strategic initiatives such as, our Key Client Initiative, Gallup StrengthsFinder and APCO Future Leaders.
- Interface confidently with APCO’s global leadership team -providing updates on key learning initiatives, actively listening for feedback and needs throughout the network, and debriefing leaders on metrics related to our team KPIs.
- Support the Senior Director with internal team operations.
- Leverage Via, APCO’s HR management system to deliver and track employee progress.
- Introduce and manage AI-driven tools to personalize learning experiences and enhance training outcomes.
- Deliver training, L&D orientation sessions, and other presentations about our work to a global audience.
- Travel as necessary to APCO’s global offices, to deliver training, lead programs/events, and engage in meetings with leaders across all levels to understand the needs in the region.
- Analyze effectiveness and calculate the ROI of our signature programs and build a compelling narrative around the data that can be shared broadly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be passionately curious, entrepreneurial, creative, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and attentive to detail. In addition, please see the following qualifications for this role:
- At least 6-8 years successful experience in training and development, organizational development or related field. Experience working in a consulting environment desired.
- Proven experience in creating training programs and learning paths, particularly for AI integration and upskilling initiatives.
- Previous experience with online learning platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, Udemy) and LMS systems is a must
- Must have experience administering online learning platforms (e.g. LinkedIn Learning, Udemy, Coursera) and LMS systems, including content curation, user management, platform integrations, and analytics tracking.
- Strong track record of building meaningful collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities with timelines; set goals, manage resources, and define a scope of work.
- Experience designing learning experiences (classroom, blended, virtual, e-learning)
- Experience with learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite and video
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Confidence in using technology or digital platforms to solve problems is a must.
- Passion for learning, increasing employee capability and achieving business results through people development.
- College degree in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, or instructional design or related field with experience in progressively challenging learning and development business related positions.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 10% or 4-6 times per year.
