Reporting to the Director of Specialty Services, the Physician Liaison is the primary sales and marketing person responsible for building relationships between APDerm physician offices, external partners and APDerm affiliated specialty practices, to generate referrals and increase the number of patients referred between APDerm and affiliated specialty practices.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the current approach to increase data-driven strategy and leverage modern communications tools.
- Help us grow our expertise in key decision-making dynamics (of referrals), data-sources and relationship management best practices among physicians and their influential team members.
- Contribute to overall growth of APDerm through implementation of its business development strategy and goals for its managed Dermatology and specialty practices.
- Know and adhere to APDerm’s compliance program including understanding healthcare laws, regulations, guidance, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Operations Directors and the Director of Cosmetic services to develop and implement outreach and relationship management plans for primary care physicians (existing and untapped) and other possible referral sources.
- Collaborate with the practice managers to identify APDerm locations and physicians that have opportunities to grow.
- Arrange and attend appointments, in-services, and other activities with physicians and their staff through relationship-building, cold calling and visiting existing referring physicians.
- Build successful working relationships with clinical staff to help exceed office goals.
- Recommend and drive implementation of tracking tools and activity reporting for visibility and strategy alignment with leadership team.
- Think creatively and compliantly to develop strategies for building relationships and enhancing the APDerm Specialty brands with both new and existing referring physicians.
- Develop tracking tools and report this information to the leadership team monthly.
- Track and monitor all activities with existing and potential referring physicians with great attention-to-detail and accuracy.
- Assist with the start-up of new sites in the regional geography, engaging with the De Novo team to optimize physician knowledge of new APDerm locations so that centers open with a solid demand.
- Exercise good judgment in the use of company funds for sales and marketing activities, and track and submit all expenses.
- Maintain a professional, engaging, compliant and positive image and demeanor consistent with APDerm and affiliated practice brand standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent amount of education and experience.
- Sales experience with a proven track record of effectiveness and adherence to compliance standards
- Business development experience
- Knowledge of health care industry a must – dermatology experience preferred
- Ability to understand medical jargon and speak confidently with medical staff
- Comfortable and well-versed in creating networking opportunities and speaking publicly at events
- Ability to pivot and re-prioritize as business needs change
- Flexibility for evolving territory as the organization’s footprint grows
- Ideal candidate will reside in MA, NH, RI as bi-weekly travel to Acton MA or Wellesley office required. Position requires travel 95% of time
