With facilities in Calgary Canada, Coburg Oregon, and Phoenix Arizona, APEL serves the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States.
Job Summary
The production scheduler is responsible for scheduling and forecasting shipping and trucking needs for Coburg operations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage the flow of work and materials from customer order to product shipment.
- Provide overall leadership for product shipment.
- Act as a key contact for the customer service department.
- Ensure on time production delivery to customers by working with trucking companies to fulfill customer needs.
- Minimize shipping costs when scheduling deliveries.
- Work with management and customer service to ensure appropriate scheduling and availability of resources to meet all production plans and customer orders.
- Distribute work orders and schedule production assets in the most efficient way.
- Direct all inbound and outbound logistics with detailed planning and routing.
- Apply knowledge in capacity planning, supply/demand systems to drive disciplined systems, robust processes, and focused standardization of best practices.
- Develop and implement tools to evaluate inventory levels and recommend strategies for inventory control. Ensure efficient and effective deployment/utilization of asset levels to meet demand.
- Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity.
- Consult with the Operations/Plant Manager and workforce supervisors to obtain information or give instructions with regard to the needs of an order.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration with emphasis in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related degree.
- Preferred – experience with contemporary scheduling and materials management knowledge including MRP, Demand Flow, JIT, Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Logistics, and Supply Chain design.
