Job Title: Press Team Leader
APEL Extrusions Location: Phoenix, AZ
Shift: Swing, Monday-Thursday 4am-2pm

APEL Extrusions, Inc. is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum extrusions, with six extrusion presses and a full array of finishing capabilities occupying over 600,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space employing approximately 300 people. With facilities in Calgary Canada, Coburg Oregon, and Phoenix Arizona, APEL serves the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States.

Job Summary
The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing all production employees for that shift, coordinating with Management on daily requirements and establishing plans to accommodate those goals with their production team. The Team Leader will ensure and enforce the adherence to all APEL safety guidelines, work instructions, and job requirements. The Team Leader is also expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments, communicate requirements, and provide direction to their production team.
Overtime is to be expected due to production requirements.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Has a full working knowledge of all the equipment associated to this job.
- Review and follow the work order and best practice requirements.
- Adhere to and promote all safety requirements.
- Good working knowledge of Aluminum Standard Tolerances.
- Can read and understand dimensional prints.
- Can operate all measuring devises required in this position.
- Adhere to and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and comply with all Quality processes and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years managerial experience in a manufacturing / plant environment.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or other applicable field of study.
- Experience in extrusion and extrusion finishing processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull at least 25 pounds.
- Capable of frequent standing, walking, standing, bending, twisting, and repetitive motion.
