APEL Extrusions is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum extrusions serving the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States. With facilities in Calgary Canada, Coburg Oregon, and Phoenix Arizona. APEL Extrusions is a fully integrated extruder with six extrusion presses, (2 in Calgary and 3 in Oregon and 1 in Phoenix) and a full array of finishing capabilities occupying over 600,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space employing approximately 325 people.

APEL Extrusions has an immediate requirement for a qualified Human Resources Generalist in its Phoenix, Arizona facility.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, with dotted line reporting to the Corporate HR Manager, the HR Generalist is an integral member of the APEL Human Resources team and is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Phoenix people plan throughout the employee life cycle, delivering various people metrics, driving location initiatives, processes, projects, and activities related to his/her job responsibilities.
This person will work directly with the employees and leaders across Phoenix and the APEL HR team.

Job Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately work with managers and payroll to compile the bi-weekly payroll information for non-exempt, hourly employees and salaried employees.
- Facilitate recruitment and conduct orientation of new hires with delivery of new employee orientation.
- Prepare & maintain required documentation for employee personnel records performance reviews, new hires, terminations, pay changes, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct investigations and provide input on employee relations issues.
- Communicate and respond to employee and/or managers questions to help resolve questions regarding local policies/procedures and documentation.
- Complete transactional tasks in the HRMS (Paycor) and other systems.
- Administrative support with Workers Compensation, OSHA reporting, and various plant vendors.
- Prepare & distribute (if applicable) various HR reports (Headcount Tracking, Turnover, Call off Tracking, etc.).
- Remain abreast of and provide guidance on local, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations and statutes governing equal employment opportunity practices, location and APEL policies and practices.
- Prepare internal employee communications & assist with policy development as needed.
- Assist with the development and implementation of an employee training/development system.
- Provide backup HR support across APEL as needed.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

- Strong computer skills, able to learn and navigate new systems easily.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite products.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 7 years of human resources experience or any like combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Management, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
- Fluency in Spanish; highly desired.
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Society of Human Resource Management SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP
- Strong background in employment law and policy development
- Strong Organization Development and HR Generalist background
