IDEC Corporation, parent company of APEM, Inc was founded in 1945 and is listed with the Tokyo Stock Exchange with the headquarters located in Osaka, Japan. IDEC designs, manufactures and markets control automation products throughout the world. The products which we develop with ardent devotion to safety, higher productivity and environmental improvements include switches, relays, PLCs, operator interfaces, explosion-proof products, LED lightings, and barcode readers. Most of our products are for industrial applications but some products have applications in commercial and residential fields. IDEC also provides customized control solutions, including robot system integration where absolute safety is required in places with people and robots working as a team. In recent years, our core technologies opened new businesses in renewal energy and agriculture.
The Mission
The Sales Analyst plays a critical role in driving the success of the sales organization by providing data-driven insights, analyzing sales performance, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role works across multiple divisions, ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting, and identification of growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of sales processes in a multi-divisional environment.
Primary Role Accountabilities
Sales Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze sales data across various regions to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that track sales performance, revenue growth, and market penetration.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports for leadership and provide actionable insights.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest improvements to optimize sales efficiency.
Forecasting and Budgeting
- Collaborate with sales leadership to develop accurate sales forecasts by evaluating historical data, market trends, and pipeline analysis.
- Support budgeting processes by providing data to align sales strategies with financial goals.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance against forecasts and budgets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, finance, and product teams to align sales strategies with Company objectives.
- Work closely with divisional sales teams to understand unique challenges and develop customized solutions.
- Contribute to the development of sales incentives, territory planning, and goal-setting initiatives.
Process Improvement and Automation
- Identify inefficiencies in the sales process and recommend improvements.
- Support the integration and utilization of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to streamline data collection and reporting.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all sales systems.
Sales Support and Strategy
- Assist in developing pricing strategies and promotional initiatives.
- Provide sales teams with data insights to improve negotiation strategies and deal closures.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to align sales goals with organizational objectives.
Travel
· Some infrequent travel required
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in sales analysis, sales operations, or a similar analytical role, preferably in a multi-divisional or matrixed organization.
· Proven track record of working with large datasets, financial modeling, and forecasting.
· Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
· Knowledge of sales methodologies and pipeline management.
· Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present data and insights clearly to stakeholders.
· Ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making without direct authority.
· Capacity to contribute to strategic initiatives and long-term planning.
· Must pass a security background check.
Desired Work Experience, Qualifications, & Sills
· Advanced Excel skills (Power BI, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and experience with SQL, Python, or other analytical tools is a plus.
· Experience in manufacturing industries.
· Familiarity with financial analysis and P&L management.
· Certifications in data analysis, CRM systems, or sales operations.
· May need to be available outside normal working hours should issues arise.
