Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant
Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in providing resident care and support in all activities of daily living, ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with serving meals and feeding; provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Provide assistance in personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assist with travel to the bathroom; help with showers and baths.
- Support ambulation, turning, and positioning residents.
- Maintain resident stability by checking vital signs and weight; record intake and output information.
- Ensure resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials; answer call lights and requests; report observations of the residents to the nursing supervisor.
- Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Protect privacy and dignity by keeping patient information confidential; comply with HIPAA guidelines and related laws.
Requirements:
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of the state of practice.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Long term care experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Physical Demands:
- Required to sit, stand, bend, and walk regularly.
- Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Visual and auditory ability sufficient for written and verbal communication.
Bonus Structure:
Certified Nursing Assistants are eligible for additional hourly wage increases based on their years of experience: $1.50 after 1 year, $2.50 after 2 years, $3.50 after 3 years, $4.50 after 4 years, $5.50 after 5 years, and $6.50 after 6 or more years.
