As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper to support our finance team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions of the company. This role will ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, assist with preparing financial reports, and maintain a clean and organized accounting system. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the CEO, Finance Manager, and other members of the accounting team to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, common journal entries, etc.)
- Ensure all transactions are posted correctly and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process bills, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
- Manage customer invoicing, payment processing, and accounts receivable.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile company bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist with preparing monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support the CEO and outside accounting firm in year-end reporting and audits.
- Inventory Management:
- Help track and reconcile project costs with manufacturing data.
- Assist with month-end closing processes related to works in progress.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, QBO, or similar) and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Experience with payroll processing and knowledge of tax regulations is a plus.
- Familiarity with cost accounting practices is a plus.
