Title- Food Scientist
Location- Frisco TX
12 months contract
Rate- $36.70/hr
The Regulatory Contractor will support the Regulatory Affairs team by collaborating with relevant stakeholders to support new product launches and in-market product maintenance. This position is responsible for providing regulatory content of label copy for all KDP products. The Regulatory Contractor will act as a compliance partner, supporting the regulatory analysts to help provide sound regulatory guidance to project teams. The Regulatory Contractor should feel empowered to challenge status-quo and suggest areas of improvement and work with colleagues to identify a path forward.
• Review and approve formulas and ingredients for compliance with applicable regulations and in context of approved claims.
• Analyze product formulations to verify compliance.
• Create final Label Content, including substantiated claims, compliant nutrition facts & ingredient statements as well as all other U.S. and/or Canada mandated label content.
• Review finished product labels to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Provide support for Regulatory data maintenance projects
• Research applicable regulations to confidently substantiate claims requested by business teams.
• Build positive relationships and become a liaison with division/department colleagues.
University degree in a scientific field (minimum B.S., Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, Nutrition,) preferred.
• Regulatory experience in food industry a must
• A minimum of 6 months to 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs of a Consumer Products Company with working knowledge of U.S. FDA labeling regulations as published in 21 CFR Parts 1-199.
• Exceptional team player with willingness and propensity for collaboration and relationship building.
• Ability to anticipate and address issues in a proactive manner.
• Strong multi-tasking and project management skills.
• High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Passion for learning and ability to listen and accept critical feedback.
• Technical Knowledge & Software Applications: (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Optiva).
**Qualified candidates must posses Food Regulatory knowledge inclusive of food label graphics reviews and ingredient compliance checks along with knowledge of 21CFR.**
