What are the responsibilities and job description for the PLC Scada Engineer position at Apetan Consulting LLC?
Role: PLC Scada Engineer role
Location: -Casper, WY(Relocate from Day 1 onsite)
Consultant from Energy sector experience and field experience
Duration: - 6 months contract
Description -
Will require travel to locations around Casper, WY (Client Territory is WY, OR, WA, and Montana) weekly, most travel will be within 2-3 hours of Casper, will be overnights as well
There will be occasional (1-2 times per quarter to Cali, Vegas, or Des Moines)
Travel is covered/expensable
Majority of the work will be in Glenrock, WY, Douglas, WY, and Medicine Bow, WY.
Travel will be to the wind farms (there are 10 of them total)
Travel Locations:
1. 6 of them are within 2 hours of Casper, so will be a day trip
2. 1 of them is in Montana (4 hour drive each way), so may be a overnight trip
3. Other 3 are in Oregon and Montana (flight and couple days there)
Will need to be local to be on site for first month or so (to build rapport with the team and get up to speed, after that can be hybrid, there will be travel weekly to those locations above)
There is an office in Casper (can be in and out depending on the work that needs done)
Will need to be prepared to travel to Cali, TX, etc. for first few weeks of training with the team.
Most of time will be spent in Operation and Maintenance buildings on the wind farm.
Biggest part of job: Doing firmware and software upgrades specifically on Allen Bradley PLCs (by Rockwell Automation). They do these when a vulnerability is discovered.
Must Haves:
1. PLC exp. (specifically Allen Bradley PLC which is by Rockwell Automation)
2. SCADA exp.
3. Troubleshooting, patching, upgrade exp. of the PLC/SCADA systems
Helpful if they have exp. with one or more controls systems. If they've worked with any renewable controls systems that could be helpful. Security exp. (NERC CIP Compliance). HMI (Human Machines Interface) exp. good to have as well.
