Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests, including but not limited to immunoassays, PCR, and DNA isolation.
- Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples from patients.
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout all laboratory processes to ensure accurate results and patient safety.
- Manage laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Document test results accurately and maintain detailed records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights for patient care.
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality control measures within the clinical laboratory environment.
Experience
- A solid understanding of physiology and anatomy is essential for effective analysis and interpretation of laboratory results.
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred, with familiarity in laboratory management practices being a plus.
- Proficiency in performing complex laboratory techniques such as immunoassays, PCR, DNA isolation, and other relevant assays.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
License Requirements
- Must have Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments Program (CLIA) certification.
