Position Summary: The National Account Fleet Manager serves as the primary point of contact for supporting National Account customers after forklift orders have been placed. This role ensures seamless customer experience from truck delivery to post-installation support, maintaining strong relationships with clients and local dealers. The Fleet Manager plays a crucial role in supporting both the customer and the local dealer network, ensuring alignment with the client’s goals and service expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to review and define key pre-delivery requirements, including equipment specifications, spare parts management, billing considerations, and warranty processes.
- Facilitate pre-delivery calls between the sales team and the customer to confirm electrical infrastructure readiness, site preparation, spare parts inventory at the local dealer, and Linde service team training status.
- Review Ship-In dealer information with Kion and establish contact with the Ship-In Dealer.
- Coordinate with the Apex MHC Project Manager to communicate truck delivery schedules with local dealers, ensuring awareness of incoming shipments, defining site visit requirements, establishing action plans for delivery and training, and completing Ship-In letters accurately and on time.
- Confirm the dealer’s readiness to receive trucks and provide necessary support.
- Ensure local dealers understand client expectations for service and support.
- Ensure all trucks are accurately entered into the system with warranty information.
- Coordinate with the West Chicago Parts team to maintain spare parts inventory and provide a parts list to the Apex Parts Manager for effective inventory planning.
- Lead weekly internal calls to review truck delivery schedules, coordinate truck, battery, and charger deliveries, and minimize costs.
- Be present at customer sites on the first delivery day to: Oversee truck handoff, ensuring paperwork completion, dealer relationships, Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) support, Ship-In Dealer task completion, and conducting customer familiarization and LION training.
- Monitor local dealer service performance and support levels.
- Manage the parts consignment program and fleet management initiatives.
- Provide reports on fleet performance and cost per truck.
- Assist with centralized billing programs and spare parts usage metrics.
- Coordinate truck transfers throughout the network.
- Lead special projects, including LION conversions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 5-7 years of previous Service Manager experience preferred.
- Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to generate leads and close sales.
- Ability to provide technical support to local dealers.
- Familiarity with navigating service diagnostic software and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving, customer service, and communication abilities.
- Ability to travel 2-3 times per week to customer sites and dealer locations required.
