What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Lab Removable Technician Apprentice position at APEX DENTAL LABORATORY GROUP LLC?
General Description of Function:
The Dental Laboratory Technician is a member of the dental laboratory team who, upon prescription from a dental clinician, constructs custom made restorative and dental appliances. The Dental Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the fabrication, alteration or repair of dental devices such as dentures, crown, bridges, inlays or appliances.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:
- Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist
- Pour, Base and Trim models
- Set bites
- Articulate models
- Make duplicate models for flexible and partial models
- All aspects of denture and partial processing to include boilout and processing
- Investing and packing dentures, partials, night guards
- Fabricate bite rims, custom trays, repairs and relines.
- Pour and jig cases to be relined
- Review final work and check completely that all quality standards have been met before passing the work to the next technician.
- Trouble shoot and problem solve, using past experience and success to gauge best steps on future cases.
- Ensure the responsible use, safety and care of equipment.
- Perform/Document routine scheduled Preventative Maintenance of equipment
- Participate in Company sponsored training and meetings as required
- Support and incorporate Apex Mission, Vision and Core Values
- Clean work area daily
- Perform other duties as required and assigned

- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing work environment
- Ability to meet assigned production levels, quality standards and timelines
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and depth perception
- Ability to pay close attention to details
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Ability to work towards and meet production goals
Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:
- Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work tasks that require and follow safety guidelines as stated in Apex Safety & Health Plan Manual.

Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to walk, sit, stand and/or reach
- Manual dexterity which allows the individual to grasp and operate small hand tools/equipment and use their hands and fingers and to produce precision product is required
- Regularly required to push, pull, lift and/or carry 0-10 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
