What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager Private Equity Fund Accountant position at Apex Group Ltd (Americas)?
The Role & Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate intelligently with all team members concerning client fund specifics and industry best practices
- Direct overall management of assigned client service teams with a focus on consistent application of Apex process control procedures, workflow consistency, proper client communications, and confidentiality of client data
- Develop full project plans and manage client team workloads in order to meet established timetables and deadlines, including coordination with Apex Investor Services group
- Continuously evaluate workload of client service teams to ensure adequate staffing to meet client assignments, ensure individual team members maintain balanced workloads, assist team members with prioritizing, delegating, and managing temporary spikes in workload, make recommendations for new staff resources as needed, and ensure new hires receive appropriate training
- Identify inefficiencies and provide recommendations to management to address them through a change in procedure or enhanced technology
- Evaluate performance of individual client service team members and coordinate annual reviews
- Monitor and evaluate team hours to identify needs for additional training and or supervision, enhancements to Apex processes and/or workflows, and unusual client requests or working habits that require additional time commitments
- Maintain knowledge of accounting rules and reporting requirements pertaining to investment funds and registered investment advisors and ensure such rules are appropriately applied
- Review and approve quarterly and annual financial workpaper packages including detailed review of financial statements to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Review and approve all business workflows including capital calls, management fees, partner allocations, and investor distributions.
- Review investment related legal documents, waterfall calculations, and complex investment transactions
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; advanced degree and/or CPA are desired
- Minimum of 15 years of investment fund accounting experience inclusive of private equity fund administration
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing teams of accounting professionals
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated client service orientation
- Strong project management skills with keen attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
- Able to perform well under pressure and be adaptable

Salary ranges from USD $130,000.00 – USD $150,000.00 plus additional discretionary yearly bonus based on corporate and individual's performance. Compensation within this range is dependent on individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
