Activities Director Overview:
As the Activities Director, your primary responsibility will be to create and execute a plan that facilitates a smooth transition for our residents while enhancing their overall well-being. This will be achieved through the planning, development, and implementation of recreational activities designed to address the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of each resident, making their life as fulfilling as possible.
Key Duties of the Activities Director:
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate activity programs tailored to the needs of the facility’s residents.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as professional standards, in collaboration with the Administrator.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to identify and address the medical-related activity needs of residents.
- Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans, resident assessments, and interdisciplinary care plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Activities Director:
- Must hold a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or Certified Activities Professional (CAP) designation.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in Activities or Therapeutic Recreation within a long-term care setting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, family members, and the facility’s team.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with electronic medical record systems such as Point Click Care or similar platforms.
