Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to efficiently load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and mechanical knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of warehouse functions.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to build effective workflows and optimize material handling processes.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Utilize cranes as needed for moving heavy items safely within the warehouse environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly forklifts.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to adhere to OSHA regulations and maintain safety standards at all times.
- Excellent materials handling skills with attention to detail in loading/unloading operations.
- Experience working under the guidance of a warehouse supervisor is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
