Job Descripition - Landscape-Construction Supervisor
Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Production
Job Summary:
The construction supervisor's responsibilities include overseeing the dialing activities, production, and schedule of the assigned operating shift.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Interviews, hires, and trains new hourly team members in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the construction crews under his charge.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and by company policy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of landscape-hardscape sites each day
- Coordinate accurate, up-to-date reporting of project status, scheduling, and planning
- Conduct daily meetings with project foremen to review site progress
- Know the current status of each project at all times
- Oversee project contracts, including field change orders
- Identify, negotiate, and solve site/design problems and make changes in the field as needed.
- Perform site inspections for quality control and to ensure safe working conditions.
- Communicate with clients, sales individuals, account managers, operation teams, buyers, and foremen on production planning.
- Teach labor staff methods and procedures for installation
- Ensure daily coordination of all aspects of each project
- Ensure that all projects are completed on schedule and at the highest level of quality
- Responsible for submitting accurate and timely paperwork, time records, work orders, reports, and other required documents.
- Works with Operations Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Enforce standard operating procedure (SOP)
- Assist other production departments as needed.
- Management of snow crews during snow season including assessment of skills level to work snow season. Contacting crewmembers, assigning equipment, managing time sheets, and evaluating the performance of snow removal services including snow plowing, shoveling, machine operator, and salting.
- May be required to plow or salt when needed.
- Operations of machinery e.g. Skid Steers, chippers, and Dingo
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential computer background (Google Suites) and other time-tracking software (Dynascape Manage 360 preferred)
Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical fieldwork.
Bilingual English/Spanish Read, Write & Speak
Education and Experience:
Experience in the residential and commercial construction field
Knowledge of hardscapes, masonry, grading, planting, lighting, and fencing preferred
Ability to read, interpret, and layout engineering, and landscape plans
General knowledge of village codes and permitting preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in Project Management preferred
Bilingual (English – Spanish) Required
License and Certifications:
Valid Driver's License (CDL or Ability to obtain after employment)
Clear Driving Record
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of driving to job site.
Period sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times. Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities this job requires include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
