What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Softball Umpire position at Apex Park and Recreation District?
Must have full knowledge and understanding of all rules/policies/procedures/codes of conduct for adult slowpitch softball leagues. Upon hire, this individual must become an expert on Apex PRD Slowpitch Softball rules and be able to pass a written test on these rules. This person must be responsible, professional and a good communicator. They must be skilled at game management, especially in intense game situations. Umpires will be required to keep score on a electric scoreboard.
Other duties include maintaining a safe and fun environment in which to play, attending staff meetings and being available to cover a shift on short notice. Must follow Apex Park and Recreation District policies and procedures and respond appropriately to all emergency situations. Hours: Games are held Monday – Friday from 6-10:30 pm.
APEX will provide umpires with shirts and hats. Umpires are responsible for providing their own black or blue pants (or shorts), plate brush, indicator, ball holder.Must be at least 18 years of age, have a background in slowpitch softball, and the passion to learn officiating.
Knowledge of USA and USSSA slow pitch rules helpful but not mandatory.

Salary : $25 - $35
