APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Albany, NY looking to add an Automation and Control Systems Engineer to their already amazing team. What your day will look like :
Collaborate with various engineering teams to define control system architectures and strategies for machinery, processes, and automation systems.
Create content (text, screenshots, etc.) for the Operations section of Operation and Maintenance manuals.
Facilitate conversations with customers and suppliers regarding control systems, interfaces, and integration.
Travel up to 30% (domestic and international) to assist with commissioning, integration, and site acceptance at customer locations.
Provide support to our Customer Service Center by diagnosing and resolving control-related issues on installed equipment.
Design, develop, and document software for machine control, HMI, SCADA, and other control-related systems.
Lead hands-on commissioning of equipment including testing, troubleshooting, and supporting factory acceptance tests.
What we are looking for :
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering
2 years of relevant experience
Strong knowledge of computer hardware and system architecture
Experience in developing control system programs for Siemens (Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC Professional SCADA), Fanuc, or Allen Bradley PLCs, CNCs, HMIs, and Servo Drives is preferred
Experience programming commercial robots (e.g., ABB, Fanuc, Kuka) is preferred
Proficiency in National Instruments LabView and AutoCad is a plus
Solid understanding of computer communications (TCP / IP, RS-232) and industrial network protocols (Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet / IP, OPC, etc.) is preferred
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
