SEASONAL SUMMER LAWN CREW / LABORER / ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE TECH
POSITION SUMMARY:
Apex Property Management is looking for a Seasonal Summer Lawn Crew / Laborer / Assistant Maintenance Tech to service properties in our portfolio which include multi-family, condominiums, and commercial properties. If interested, you will have the opportunity to expand to more in-depth routine and preventative maintenance and grow your responsibility over time! Our techs provide superior customer service to all residents through solid collaboration with all team members.
Scheduled hours are Monday – Friday between 8:30am – 5:00pm
Full Time and Part Time positions available
WE WILL BEGIN RESPONDING TO APPLICANTS AS OF WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16Th.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
During your normal course of duties listed below, look for needed maintenance or liability hazards and report to Maintenance Supervisor. Provide updates on completion status of work orders.
· LANDSCAPING:
o Care for established lawns by mulching/aerating/weeding/grubbing/removing thatch or trimming/edging around flower beds/walks/walls. Mow or edge lawns using mowers/edgers. Prune or trim trees/shrubs/hedges, using shears/pruners/chain saws. Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems/hoses/watering cans.
o Clean flower beds: trim/pick flowers, rake/mulch/compost leaves, gather and remove litter.
o Plan or cultivate lawns or gardens: Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod/sow grass/plant flowers/foliage. Decorate gardens with stones or plants, plant seeds/bulbs/foliage/flowering plants, grass/ground covers, trees/shrubs, attach wires from planted trees to support stakes, and apply mulch for protection.
o Install rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, retaining walls, fences, or planters.
o Use hand tools: shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
o Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools.
o Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, and pruning saws.
o Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, or other grounds features.
o Shovel snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spread salt in those areas.
· WEATHER RELATED: Assist with clean up due to inclement weather, fires, floods, freezing temperatures. Assist with snow/ice removal and salting (required).
· JANITORIAL: Assist with custodial work in common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, etc.
· GENERAL LABOR: Assist Maintenance Techs by helping on various projects, cleaning job sites, delivering parts to job sites, etc.
DESIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Team Player with a positive "can do" attitude, willing to ask for assistance and training when needed
· Good time management, demonstrate high levels of motivation and follow through, careful attention to detail
· Ability to function effectively in a customer service environment
· Ability to continually: bend/stoop, lift/carry, climb stairs, kneel, crouch, balance, reach above shoulder height, walk, and twist, climb/work from ladders
· Proficiency in using a cell phone and tablet to receive email, texts, and calls
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· A valid driver’s license in good standing, and meet company driving record eligibility requirement
· If you have a reliable vehicle and vehicle insurance that is a plus!
· Must pass background check
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
· $18.00 - $20.00/hour depending on skill set
· This position is available to the right candidate immediately or with appropriate notice to current employer
