Job Description – FP&A/Data Analyst (Marketing)
Mission of the Role:
Apex is looking for a FP&A / Data Analyst who is passionate about helping build a world-class finance, analytics, and marketing organization. This individual would be responsible for (i) executing workstreams in marketing analytics, including ad hoc analyses, (ii) reporting performance marketing results across all P&L levels in the organization, (iii) forecasting and budgeting for marketing spend across seven regions, and (iv) being a thought partner on long-term strategic planning and growth initiatives with our marketing department leaders and other senior leaders within Apex.
This role is highly analytical, strategic, and data-oriented and is suited for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to combine financial, strategic, and analytical capabilities, with a high level of emotional intelligence, to help grow the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a direct link between marketing and operations to facilitate accurate and timely reporting to support decision making
- Maintain and update consolidated financial/KPI reports and analyses to support marketing and operational leaders across Apex
- Drive strategic financial thinking across the Company and act as a thought partner to the marketing leadership team and other senior leaders within Apex on long-term strategic planning
- Develop detailed financial models as well as reporting structures and processes to facilitate strategic planning and decision-making
- Conduct analyses and build presentations to support Board and management dialogue and capital allocation decisions
- Assist with the creation and execution of strategic growth initiatives and other special projects, including timing and rhythm to achieve success
- Become recognized as a trusted partner across Apex
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or a related field
- 2 years of prior strategic finance, transaction advisory services, investment banking and/or private equity experience
- Exceptional financial modelling skills
- Understanding of S. GAAP accounting
- Familiarity with marketing KPIs
- Strong ability to communicate financial information into common language
- Experience working with minimal oversight and directly with senior leadership, a plus
