Position : Business Systems Analyst
Location : Washington, DC - HYBRID after training
Duration : 6 Month Contract to Hire
Selling Points : Potential Hybrid, Stable Contract (New 5 Year Contract), Has held the contract for the last 15 years, Some parking reimbursement upon conversion
Training will be 100% onsite – HYBRID afterwards
MUST HAVES :
- Authorized to Work in the US and obtain a Dept of Justice PT | Bachelor’s Degree & 1 years of experience OR 5 years overall
- Strong experience with SQL queries and Excel
- Accounting background and / or understanding of law processing is a huge plus
Must get DoJ Public Trust prior to starting Heavy Financial and Criminal Background Check (8-12 week process)
The ideal candidate should be proficient in understanding the Software Development Lifecycle and the supporting software necessary to perform change management. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in the area of technical requirement gathering and analysis. The ideal candidate will support our clients, providing strategic guidance in support of new applications or the enhancement of existing applications to facilitate the implementation of solutions using standard methods, best practices, techniques, and tools applicable to requirements analysis. The candidate will analyze client requirements and assist with developing recommendations for system solutions through development, system improvements, and operational optimizations. Assignments range in complexity from basic analysis and problem solving to developing recommendations for complete business solutions or technical applications.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Investigates, analyzes and resolves routine and advanced problems in selected functional areas.Assesses gathers and evaluates client application requirements.Performs benchmark needs analysis and requirements definitions in selected functional areas.Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and maintains a variety of client environments or solutions.With supervision from more senior analysts and managers, handle portions of larger projects, including data development, analysis, first draft written communications and client interaction.Begins to develop depth in one area of specialization (e.g., solutions specialization, architectural design, etc.).Coordinates work with developers, testers, operations, engineers, and clients, as required.Writes technical documentation – completes portions of analysis sheets (requirements gathering), prepares packaged presentations, and conducts application demonstrations.Supports clients by designing, customizing, delivering solutions, training, and giving technical presentations.Suggests components for the basic system integration of products and services in selected functional areas.Writes specification documents for solutions and enhancements to applications or systems within the program.Suggests changes to database design that support the proposed solution.Performs database queries to troubleshoot problems.Required Qualifications
1 year of experience plus a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline. With 5 years of specialized experience, no degree is required.Capability to develop SQL to support testing analysis activities, including back end database testing.Ability to collaborate, communicate, and triage technical issues across teamsAbility to conduct test risk / system impact analysisAbility to thoroughly identify, document, and track defectsAble to prioritize, multi- task, and excel in a fast-paced, on-time deliverable environmentMust have `Can Do - Professional Attitude' and be a TEAM playerOral Communication - Makes clear and convincing oral presentations to individuals and groups. Listens effectively and clarifies information as needed. Speaks in a clear, concise, and organized manner that is appropriate to the audience. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification is strongly preferred.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)Hands on experience Data Studio is ideal.Experience in software testing, creation, and implementation
