Role: Database Engineer
Location: REMOTE
Type: Long Term Contract
Apex Systems, a Global Leader in IT Solutions, is searching for a Database Engineer with specialty in SQL and Oracle databases, SQL development, and a background in .NET based web applications. This role will involve everything from database development, to performance tuning, to database design and analysis, and data architecture. The role will require experience in ETL processes, working with PowerBI, and database administration with large data sets. Previous experience in highly regulated environments with PII data is preferred.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs including mainframe and client/server applications, and major enhancement of existing systems.
- Must be proficient in MS SQL and Oracle database development
- Experienced with data modeling and data analysis, having performed tuning, design, analysis, and some architecture functions
- Able to identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications by working collaboratively with other teams.
- Optimize database performance and efficiency of current and new queries implemented by projects by tuning queries, implementing standards and adjusting indexes/resources
- Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.
- Extensive experience with Agile development
- Exposure to .NET based application and development in C# and/or ASP.NET
- ETL and BI expertise, specifically with SSIS, Informatica, and PowerBI
