Hardware Engineer (High Power EV Charging Reliability Engineer)
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Travel: Up to 20% domestic travel, with trips to Seattle
Type: Long Term Contract (11 months starting with opportunity to extend/convert)
This Hardware Reliability Engineer will be working with the EV Charging Team. They are looking for someone with prior experience in high power electronics, previous testing experience and testing protocols. The incumbent will be working on level 2 AC/DC chargers and level 3 AC/DC fast chargers.

Hardware Engineer (High Power EV Charging Reliability Engineer)

This Hardware Reliability Engineer will be working with the EV Charging Team. They are looking for someone with prior experience in high power electronics, previous testing experience and testing protocols. The incumbent will be working on level 2 AC/DC chargers and level 3 AC/DC fast chargers.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive testing of chargers, including temperature measurements, circuit performance and mechanical testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Perform both lab-based and field-based testing and analysis.
- Identify and understand root cause of failures.
- Contribute to the development and testing of next-generation chargers.
Candidate Requirements:
- Extensive experience with high-power electronics.
- Previous experience with EV chargers is highly desirable.
- Hands-on lab experience and comfortable with fieldwork.
- Strong background in high-power circuitry.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems.
- Proficient in failure analysis and root cause analysis.
- Specific focus on the reliability of charging systems and related components.
- Ability to conduct repetitive mechanical testing and evaluate circuitry performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of common failure modes in power circuitry.
- Experience in running reliability tests for high-power circuitry.
- Strong electronics debugging skills.
- Proven experience in a lab setting.
- Diagnostic experience and proficiency in data collection.
Educational Background:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. A Masters or PhD is preferred.
