Job Summary: IT Asset Management Analyst
Manage technology assets across the enterprise. Key duties include creating entitlements in Flexera One, processing global IT requests, and handling software and hardware inquiries. Communicate with both technical and non-technical customers.
Requirements:
- Experience with Software Asset Management and software licensing (SaaS, PaaS, on-premises, freeware, open-source).
- 3 to 7 years in a large enterprise.
- Strong technical skills for effective collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Populate software asset data into Flexera.
- Gather procurement, license, EOL/EOS, contract, and financial data.
- Review and analyze software license agreements and contracts.
- Validate data between systems and the ITAM tool.
- Prepare and distribute reports; recommend cost-saving software alternatives.
- Reconcile application deployment vs. licensing entitlements.
- Provide data insights for renewals, negotiations, and procurement.
- Monitor and alert stakeholders to changes in license terms.
- Track software entitlement data for projects; resolve discrepancies.
- Identify and report issues with Flexera and supporting systems.
- Develop and maintain SAM program documentation.
- Process IT requests and support customers.
- Communicate with global stakeholders on software/hardware requests.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing.
- Document and review software/hardware request processes.
- Ensure ITAM requests meet SLAs.
- Manage the ITAM ServiceNow queue.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- The desired candidate will be detail and task oriented while at the same time capable of seeing the broader picture.
- Capable of designing, developing, and generating reports to communicate and monitor compliance, liability, and budgetary data for software applications.
- 3 years of experience in software license management with some basic knowledge of hardware asset management.
- Prior experience with ITAM tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow, SCCM, Intune, and Nexthink.
- Experience with application publishers minimally to include Alteryx, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Tableau, IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, and Adobe.
- Should possess a solid understanding of IT Asset Management policies, procedures, and practices.
- Experience using SAM tools for software license reconciliation (Flexera One and ServiceNow) as well as the knowledge of how to manually reconcile data.
- Solid interpersonal, collaboration, communication and relationship skills delivering a positive customer experience.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Experience with data analysis tools including Excel and Power BI.
- Familiar with contract/agreement review and accurate interpretation.
- Capable of working independently and able to handle multiple priorities.
Education and Training
The following certifications are considered desirable, but not mandatory:
- ITIL, COBIT or IAITAM Certifications
- Computer Science degree or undergraduate or postgraduate degree in IT, Cybersecurity, SecOps or a related field or equivalent experience.
