CONTRACT PARALEGAL
Duration : 9 Months - Funding will run through September, depending on when they are hired.
Max Pay Rate : $24 - Paying the other Paralegal on the team $24.00 / hour
Location : On-site Only. Location - Boise City Hall downtown.
Candidates will have to pay for their own parking. This has been an issue in the past. Every City of Boise employee deals with it.
Job Description :
The Boise City Attorney’s Office is seeking the services of two qualified paralegals (see qualification requirements below). The paralegals may be asked to perform the following functions : Prepare and maintain civil case files, including litigation matters.
Draft agreements, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents and review drafts to ensure legal sufficiency, content accuracy and correct grammar, punctuation and formatting.
Process public records requests under the supervision of an attorney.
Store, organize, and locate documents, records, and files using document management software.
File pleadings with courts.
Submit documents for recording in the official records of Ada County.
Provide general administrative support.
Serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries from employees, members of the public, businesses and outside organizations and directs written correspondence and telephone calls to the appropriate person.
Perform legal and factual research at the direction of an attorney.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in political science, paralegal studies, legal assisting, pre-law studies or an Associate's degree in paralegal studies and four years of experience in civil law, legal case management, legal research and writing, or assisting attorneys, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
