What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Planner position at Apex Systems?
Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle. Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules. Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering. Develops specifications for new contract orders. Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity; creates and maintains bills of material and parts / commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise wide systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing : Create and implement sourcing strategies
Operational Procurement : Assist with RFQ process, competitive bidding, analyze bids, and onboarding suppliers
Collaboration : Work with internal business partners and suppliers to drive lead time efficiencies, reduce supply chain risks, and provide sustainable solutions
Market Analysis : Analyze market trends and improve costs
Accountability : Develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery
Logistics Support : Coordinate logistics support and packaging arrangements for shipments, including handling export permits and documentation
Warehouse Operations : Oversee receiving, picking, inventory control, resupply, and shipping functions Inventory
Management : Manage inventory, liaise with buyers, handle OB, and scrap
Skills :
Working knowledge of SAP
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
Able to draft communications to large audiences, and ability to communicate to executive level Experience with :
