Job Description:
Job Title: NOC Specialist
Contract to Hire: 6 month CTH

Location: Fully on-site in Bluemont, VA
Daily responsibilities:
- Monitors, troubleshoots, configures, and manages voice, data and satellite networks.
- Coordinates with personnel to provide Tier 2 "expert" assistance in all aspects of operating and managing the network
- Requires experience with voice and data systems (e.g., Cisco Voice Over IP, Avaya Aura Audio Conference Bridge, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco CUCM Unity, Avaya PBX, multiplexers, Cisco switches and routers, TCP/IP and Windows) to include planning, evaluation and configuration of routers, bridges and other devices.
- Operation and management of systems associated with satellite tracking, providing digital data service to mobile satellite trucks and portable flyaway dishes.
- Work w to ensure that WAN services at fixed and disaster sites are operational and assists the engineering team to resolve WAN interface issues.
- Support new hardware/ software acquisition and installation of aforementioned products.
- Work is performed at the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC) Network Operations Center, backup location may be Winchester Virginia and may include a requirement to telework from personal residence on occasion.
- Overtime, shift work and weekend tours will be required. Occasional travel may be required, or other duties as assigned.
- Every 8-9 weeks, will have to make a weekend tour
Must have:
- Proficiency in Cisco Voice Over IP, Avaya Aura Audio Conference Bridge, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco CUCM Unity, Avaya PBX, multiplexers, Cisco switches and routers, TCP/IP, and Windows.
- Ability to plan, evaluate, and configure routers, bridges, and other network devices.
- Expertise in monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, and managing voice, data, and satellite networks.
- Experience with the operation and management of systems associated with satellite tracking and providing digital data services to mobile satellite trucks and portable flyaway dishes.
- Availability for occasional travel and other duties as assigned.
Nice to have:
- Proven ability to provide Tier 2 "expert" assistance in operating and managing the network.
- Any certifications relating to the job - CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network , CISSP, CCIE
