Power Engineer
We have an opening for a Power Engineer in Leetsdale, PA location. The Power Engineer is responsible for the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. This role involves leading process and product improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team, supporting manufacturing and maintenance through MDI process & continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshooting technical problems, and managing expense and CAPX projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends.
Apply engineering principles to develop and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence, including developing / revising PMs with proper granularity and cadence.
Devise PM strategies and spare parts lists.
Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of equipment problems to maximize uptime and throughput.
Develop and implement new maintenance procedures and standard work for repair.
Design and implement new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment.
Identify new technologies and processes to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead, utilizing fundamentals of project management (scope, specification, design review, budget, and WBS / Schedule governed by change management). Knowledge of FEL process is a plus.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a clear and timely manner; delegate as needed.
Schedule contractors and manage day-to-day activities to complete projects on time.
Improve equipment reliability and operation through data analysis and experimental evaluation.
Implement plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency, including waste reduction, speed, delay, and raw material usage using Lean Manufacturing principles.
Manage the coordination, implementation, and standardization of manufacturing process improvement and tooling.
Perform work measurement studies, including time studies, process capability studies, and uptime studies to meet pre-determined goals before formal handoff of the project to manufacturing.
Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, potentially as a facilitator of a team or group of teams.
Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities within the manufacturing environment.
Research, justify, design, and implement new processes, tooling, and equipment.
Conduct procurement activities, including obtaining bids, evaluating bids, and making purchase recommendations.
Design countermeasures and engineering trials; verify the effectiveness of corrective actions. Requirements
4-year degree, engineering preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in leading various types of projects, major equipment outages, and installation of new equipment and processes, directing internal and / or external resources.
Ability to facilitate and complete root cause analysis (8-D, 5 why) and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
Detail-oriented with strong communication and analytical skills.
