Job Title: RF Test Automation Engineer Location: Onsite (Redmond, WA/Sunnyvale, CA/Los Angeles, CA) Job Type: 6 month contract to extend
Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled RF Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute comprehensive system-level test strategies for RF and embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in satellite communications, telecommunications, or aerospace, with expertise in RF testing, Python automation, and test instrument integration. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to validate performance across Layer 1 RF and network-level testing, ensuring robust and reliable system operations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automated RF test systems, focusing on embedded and hardware simulations.
• Develop and enhance test capabilities at the system level, covering Layer 1 RF performance through full network validation.
• Conduct venue health checks and system-level testing, ensuring reliable operational performance.
• Work with RF instruments, such as Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generator, power meters.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize test instrument drivers, ensuring seamless interaction with various systems.
• Simulate GPS environments to validate RF signal integrity and performance.
• Establish RF integration and test strategies, working with instrument suppliers to refine testing methodologies.
• Automate test processes using Python and SCPI, integrating Valkyrie test systems for stateless IP validation and automated network performance monitoring.
• Assess streaming performance, evaluating stability under various operational conditions.
• Collaborate with validation teams, ensuring cross-department accountability, effective communication, and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in RF testing, validation, and automation.
• Proficiency in Python for automated test execution.
• Expertise in Spectrum Analyzer operation and network-level test validation.
• Hands-on experience with SCPI, RF instruments (oscilloscope, vector network analyzer, power meters), and Valkyrie for automated testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot RF system performance and network integrity.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with automated ping commands and network performance assessments.
• Familiarity with RF integration and system-level testloads.
• Background in instrument supplier interactions, testing specifications, and operational optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure streaming stability, latency checks, and performance degradation analysis.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of holding teams accountable and driving technical excellence.
